What is a chemical peel and how do they work?
A chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin causing it to exfoliate and eventually peel off.
Why do people get chemical peels?
Chemical peels treat multiple issues at the same time. This includes, but is not limited to, fine lines, dark spots, and as a means of producing younger tighter looking skin.
how long does a chemical peel take?
Downtime needed is 3-4 days. The first 2 days you will look a little sun burnt as though you just came back from vacation. Day 3 thru day 6, you will be very peely like a sunburn but more intense.
- Book your peel for a Wednesday evening (if you have weekends off).
- For acne, PCA recommends doing the peels 2 weeks apart.
- For fine lines and dark spots, it is best to this peel every 3 weeks to 1 month.
After you are done peeling, your skin will look feel tight, look refreshed and rejuvenated, and will be have a glow like you have never seen before!
